Milpitas Civic Center

Trumark Homes once again lets you keep Pace with the upward Momentum of the real estate market by building new homes in Milpitas, California. The sentence is not only an amusing pun on the name of Trumark’s Momentum at Pace housing community. It’s also true.

The minute you walk into your house, you’ll welcome the returns on your housing investment such as a two-car garage, an open floor plan designed for entertaining, granite countertops for durability, and a tankless water heater for energy savings. Venture outside your home and you’ll realize that the pluses of your purchase extend to the surrounding community.

Schools

The area boasts nine award-winning elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. There’s also an Adult Education Program if you need to brush up on a subject or two. These options are managed by the Milpitas Unified School District, which has an Academic Performance Index (API) in the high 850s out of a possible 1,000 points. That score has been going up consistently every year. For 2013, Sinnot and Curtner Elementary Schools showed even higher scores of 927 and 922 respectively.

If you’re going for a post-secondary degree, several institutions are within easy driving distance. The biggest and closest is Santa Clara University. This comprehensive Jesuit University serves over 8,000 students with degrees up to the doctorate level and law. The Keller Graduate School of Management offers MBAs in 19 concentrations. Silicon Valley University uses working high-tech experts to promote entrepreneurship, develop critical thinking, and prepare students for global business.

Getting Around

Interstates 680 and 880, with connections to other highways, are nearby, making for an easy commute to such cities as San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and Fremont. If you’d rather avoid the drive, Bay Area Rapid Transit is building a station at the intersection of Montague Expressway and Capitol Avenue. That location is also the site of a Transit Center where you can park your car and ride several bus lines as well as the light rail line run by the Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority.

Recreation

When you want to let loose with some fun, you can head for one of the 39 parks and recreational facilities managed by the city. Dixon Landing Park, which is the biggest at 11 acres, includes three tennis courts, a basketball hoop, six barbecue grills, and 10 picnic tables. Milpitas Sports Center contains free weights, Universal machines, Stairmasters, Lifecycles, three pools, and locker rooms with showers. The city also offers cultural arts programs. The Phantom Art Gallery offers display space for artists approved by the Arts Commission. Center Stage Performing Arts encourages youth ages 8 to 18 to get up on a theatrical stage. And the Community Concert Band entertains several times a year with family-style concerts.

Shopping

If you enjoy shopping, you must indulge your passion at the Great Mall. You can browse from more than 200 value and outlet stores, including such national brands as Abercrombie and Fitch, Michael Kors, and Saks Fifth Avenue. When your tummy starts rumbling, you can dine at Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden, or Dave & Busters. End your day by catching a movie at Century Theatres 20.
